Company A – Transport/Freight Forwarding

Simple OHS Solutions has been working with this company for over two years, commencing with a safety systems gap analysis right through to safety system certification. The initial gap analysis identified that whilst this company was allocating significant resources to getting OHS established, without specialist skills and knowledge, they were going beyond what was needed for their size and risk profile. Also, they were missing some of the most significant OHS risks and concentrating on areas of low risk.

Over the next 12 months, Simple OHS Solutions provided technical support to identify and implement practical risk control solutions, develop policies, procedures, safe work practices and coaching for management and staff.

The company was certified to SafetyMAP in 2008 and Simple OHS Solutions continues to maintain an active role on the OHS Committee and as trusted advisor in the area of safety.

Company B – Scrap Metal Recycling

Simple OHS Solutions has provides OHS support on a project basis to this scrap metal recycling company. Upon moving to a brand new site, Simple OHS Solutions conducted a site hazard inspection, developed a tailored site inspection program, safe operating procedures for plant and reviewed the proposed traffic management system. In addition, policies and procedures were developed and rolled out through an interactive training session with all staff. When this company acquired another site, Simple OHS Solutions did the site specific work and the OHS system was easily applied at the next site. A further assignment has involved a detailed plant risk assessment report for the commissioning of a new baler/guillotine/press for processing scrap.

Company C – Waste Collection and Recycling

Simple OHS Solutions is contracted to this waste collection and recycling company one day per week as OHS Manager. This successful partnership has been the catalyst for a positive shift in the safety culture, resulting in a reduction in injuries, an active and valued safety committee, and implementation of a fully accredited SafetyMAP Advanced Level management system.

With our assistance, this company has retained SafetyMAP advanced level certification and now has a much better relationship with the local WorkSafe inspectors.

Company D – Property Services

This company delivers regular training to its staff to ensure they have the right skills to do their job safely. They had several trainers develop and deliver training for them but nothing seemed to fit. Since 2007 Simple OHS Solutions has been doing their training every two months. Our client simply sends the topic and any procedures they have and SOS develops and deliver the training without any fuss. The company feels confident in what will be presented on the day and can relax knowing their training is under control.
